Question 653596

How do you solve this:

3x+3y=24
X-3y=-4

3x + 3y = 24 ----- eq (i)
x - 3y = -4 ----- eq (ii)

Add eqs (ii) & (i) to eliminate y and determine the value of x

Substitute the x-value into any of the two original equations to determine the value of y

Values should be {{{highlight_green(x = 5)}}}, and {{{highlight_green(y = 3)}}}, or ({{{highlight_green(5)}}}, {{{highlight_green(3)}}})
