I can show you how to find two consecutive even integers that fit your requirements. But I have no idea what an inte<b>r</b>ger is.

Let *[tex \Large x] represent the first of two consecutive even integers. Then *[tex \Large x\ +\ 2] must represent the other one.

You set up the equation properly.

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x\ =\ \frac{x\ +\ 2}{2}\ +\ 5]

Add -5 to both sides

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x\ -\ 5\ =\ \frac{x\ +\ 2}{2}]

Multiply both sides by 2

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 2x\ -\ 10\ =\ x\ +\ 2]

Add -x + 10 to both sides

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 2x\ -\ x\ =\ 2\ +\ 10]

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x\ =\ 12]

John
*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi}\ +\ 1\ =\ 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
