Question 650638
Hello I don't understand how to solve this word problem please help me

A gym charges $45 to become a member and $5 each time you visit. Non-members pay $8 each time they visit. After how many visits will it cost the same?

Let the amount of visits for members' and non-members' costs to be equal, be V

Then a member pays a total of 45 + 5V for one-time membership fee and each visit

A non-member pays 8V for each visit

Costs will be same when 45 + 5V = 8V

45 = 8V - 5V

45 = 3V

V, or amount of visits for members' and non-members' cost to be the same = {{{45/3}}}, or {{{highlight_green(15)}}}

You can do the check!!
