Question 646331
Assume the problem is:
{{{1/4}}}x + {{{1/6}}} = {{{1/3}}}(x-4)
get rid of the denominators, least common multiple is 12, mult by 12
12*{{{1/4}}}x + 12*{{{1/6}}} = 12*{{{1/3}}}(x-4)
cancel out the denominators and you have
3x + 2 = 4(x-4)
3x + 2 = 4x - 16
2 + 16 = 4x - 3x
18 = x
