Question 645982

{{{30r^3-40r^2+270r-360}}} Start with the given expression

{{{(30r^3-40r^2)+(270r-360)}}} Group the terms in two pairs

{{{10r^2(3r-4)+90(3r-4)}}} Factor out the GCF {{{10r^2}}} out of the first group. Factor out the GCF {{{90}}} out of the second group

{{{(10r^2+90)(3r-4)}}} Since we have the common term {{{3r-4}}}, we can combine like terms

{{{10(r^2+9)(3r-4)}}} Now factor out 10 from {{{10r^2+90}}}

So {{{30r^3-40r^2+270r-360}}} factors to {{{10(r^2+9)(3r-4)}}}

In other words, {{{30r^3-40r^2+270r-360=10(r^2+9)(3r-4)}}} for all values of r.
