Question 645408

2nd # is 7 times the first #. third number is 100 more than the first #. If the sum of the three numbers is 442, find the numbers.
please show me HOW you get the answer as well as the answer.
thank you

Let 1st number be F
Then 2nd = 7F, and 3rd = F + 100
Therefore, F + 7F + F + 100 = 442
9F = 442 – 100
9F = 342
F, or 1st number = {{{342/9}}}, or {{{highlight_green(38)}}}

2nd number = 7(38), or {{{highlight_green(266)}}}

3rd number = 38 + 100, or {{{highlight_green(138)}}}
