Question 644581
Let x = length of common length

so we have 2 sides of length x and a third side of length x - 2 (since "The third side measures 2m less than the common length")

Add them all up and set that equal to the perimeter 22. Then solve.

x+x + x-2 = 22

3x-2 = 22

3x = 22+2

3x = 24

x = 24/3

x = 8

So the 2 equal sides are 8 meters. The third unequal side is 8-2 = 6 meters.

Check:

Side1 + Side2 + Side3 = Perimeter

S1 + S2 + S3 = P

8+8+6 = 22

22 = 22
