Question 644562

{{{7x^3+56x^2+5x+40}}} Start with the given expression

{{{(7x^3+56x^2)+(5x+40)}}} Group the terms in two pairs

{{{7x^2(x+8)+5(x+8)}}} Factor out the GCF {{{7x^2}}} out of the first group. Factor out the GCF {{{5}}} out of the second group

{{{(7x^2+5)(x+8)}}} Since we have the common term {{{x+8}}}, we can combine like terms

So {{{7x^3+56x^2+5x+40}}} factors to {{{(7x^2+5)(x+8)}}}

In other words, {{{7x^3+56x^2+5x+40=(7x^2+5)(x+8)}}} for all values of x
