Question 644395
Find the domain of g(x)= x/(x^2+x-6)
I know the answer is all real values of x except x=-3 and x=2. And in interval; notation (-inf,-3)U(-3,2)U(2,inf)
My question is when do I used brackets and parenthesis? Thanks.
.
You use parentheses, if you do NOT want to include the points.
You use brackets, if you DO want to include the points.
In this case, you want to use parentheses because you cannot include the points in your domain.
