Question 643880

I have done 7/10 of my homework. I will submit each one separately.
The answers are randomized on the back, but it seems as if they aren't correct.
#5. Alex is creating a rectangular garden that has an area of 456 ft squared. If the length of the garden is 24 feet, what is the width of the garden?

I got 204 using 456= 2(24+w)

It appears from what you did that you're think PERIMETER instead of AREA. The question gives the AREA as 456 sq ft.

Let width be W

A = LW

456 = 24(W)

456 = 24W

W, or width = {{{456/24}}}, or {{{highlight_green(19)}}} ft
