Question 641336

A circular pizza box logo has a sector with a central angle of 40 degrees and a diameter of 25 inches. Find the area of this sector.

Please help! I've tried this over and over again and I can't seem to figure it out!

Area of sector = {{{(n/360)*pi*r^2}}}, with n being the central angle's size, and r, radius

Since n = {{{40^o}}}, and r = {{{(1/2)25}}}, or 12.5 inches, we get:

{{{A = (40/360) * pi * 12.5^2}}}

{{{A = (1/9) * pi * 156.25}}}

A, or area of sector = 54.54154 ≈ {{{highlight_green(54.54)}}} sq inches
