Question 639990
<pre>
You forgot to tell the average he must have. I will arbitrarily
make up 200 and assume you meant:
</pre>
If Mike bowled two games with scores of 206 and 176. What must he bowl for the third game to have a average <font color="red"><b><u>of 200</u></b></font> for these three games? Need an algebraic expression.
<pre>
Let his third game be x. Then

average = {{{(206+176+x)/3}}} = 200

Multiply both sides by 3

          206+176+x = 600
              382+x = 600
                  x = 218

He must bowl 218 to average 200.
