Question 636600

The sum of three numbers is 111. The third number is 3 times the first. The first number is 6 less than the second. What are the numbers?

Let the 1st number be F
Then 2nd = F + 6, and 3rd = 3F

We now have: F + F + 6 + 3F = 111

5F = 111 - 6

5F = 105

F, or 1st number = {{{105/5}}}, or {{{highlight_green(21)}}}

2nd number is: 21 + 6, or {{{highlight_green(27)}}}

3rd number is: 3(21), or {{{highlight_green(63)}}}
