Question 58699
Write the equation of the line that passes through point (–2, 3) with a slope of –4

There are two ways to do this, if your teacher is using a different method than mine let me know and I'll show you that method.
:
When given a point and a slope, I like to use the point slope formula:{{{highlight(y-y1=m(x-x1))}}}, where m=slope and (x1,y1) is the given point.
your m=-4 and (x1,y1)=(-2,3)
{{{y-3=-4(x-(-2))}}}
{{{y-3=-4(x+2)}}}
{{{y-3=-4x-8}}}
{{{y-3+3=-4x-8+3}}}
{{{y=-4x-5}}} <--this is the slope intercept form of the equation of the line.
Happy Calculating!!!
