Can't help you. You are referring to another problem that you did not include in your posting. I can solve the problem, but your comparison questions cannot be answered.

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \frac{y\ -\ 1}{x\ +\ 3}\ =\ \frac{3}{4}]

Multiply both sides by the binomial denominator in the LHS:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ y\ -\ 1\ =\ \frac{3(x\ +\ 3)}{4}]

Distribute:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ y\ -\ 1\ =\ \frac{3x\ +\ 9}{4}]

Add 1 to both sides

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ y\ =\ \frac{3x\ +\ 9}{4}\ +\ 1]

Apply LCD and combine terms in the RHS

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ y\ =\ \frac{3x\ +\ 13}{4}]

Sorry, but none of your vocabulary words came up in the solution to this one.

*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi}\ +\ 1\ =\ 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
