Good evening. Please could you help me in this problem,I am not sure about this.

narah
WHEN THE RATIO OF 2 NUMBERS IS GIVEN (3:10 AS HERE )IT IS A GOOD PRACTICE TO TAKE THEM
AS EQUAL TO ...3X AND 10X SINCE FOR ANY VALUE OF X THEIR RATIO WOULD BE 3:10 AS X CANCELS OUT LEAVING 3:10
NOW BY ADDING 25 TO EACH NUMBER WE GET THE NEW RATIO AS
(3X+25)/(10X+25) = 8/15...CROSS MULTIPLYING , WE GET
15(3X+25) = 8(10X+25)
45X+375 = 80X+200
80X-45X=375-200=175
35X =175
X=175/35=5
HENCE THE 2 NUMBERS ARE 3*5=15 AND 10*5=50
