Question 632876

If 2 trains leave a station in opposite directions and one is going 65 mph and the other 55 mph, how long will it be before they are 720 miles apart? Please EXPLAIN the process. I totally forget, and I need to know before the end of the day.

Their time to be a certain distance apart will be the distance, divided by the sum of their speeds, OR

{{{720/(65 + 55) = T}}}, with T being time

{{{720/120 = T}}}

T, or time taken to be 720 miles apart = {{{highlight_green(6)}}} hours
