Question 631282
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

4" by 4" by x.

A rectangular solid has 6 sides. This one has 2 sides that are 4 by 4, each of which has an area of 16 square inches, so 2 times 16 is 32. Then the other 4 sides are 4 by x, each of which is 4x square inches so these 4 sides total 16x square inches. Once you figure out how much x is, then plug it in to 16x, and then add the result to 32.
