Question 625622
<font face=calibri size=3>
There are two ways we can solve this: by factoring or by the quadratic formula. But if you've already been factoring, you've already seen it's quite futile. So, we shall resort with the second option.
The quadratic formula: {{{x = (-b +- sqrt( b^2-4*a*c ))/(2*a) }}}
Plug in the values of a, b, and c: {{{x=(-7+-sqrt(7^2-4(10)(-6)))/2(10)}}}.
Simplify that equation and you will find that the roots are {{{1/2}}} and {{{-6/5}}}.
