Add *[tex \LARGE x] to both sides of the first equation.  Take the expression in *[tex \LARGE x] that is equal to *[tex \LARGE y] in the first equation and substitute the expression for the variable *[tex \LARGE y] in the second equation.  Solve the resulting single variable equation in *[tex \LARGE x].  Once you have a value for *[tex \LARGE x], substitute that value into either of the original equations and solve the resulting single variable equation in *[tex \LARGE y].  Report the ordered pair element of the solution set.
