Question 623933
If I am driving 70mph eastbound and the wind is blowing 20mph westbound what is the amount of wind force to the nose of my vehicle?
---------
The speed of the relative wind is the sum = 90 mi/hr
The force depends on the size and shape of the vehicle.
Aircraft spec's sometimes include the "equivalent flat plate area" that can be used to calculate drag, but I haven't seen that for ground vehicles.
