{{{((x+y)(x+y)/(x+y))*((x+y)(x-y)/(x-y))}}} Cancel the numerators and denominators that match:
{{{(cross((x+y))(x+y)/cross((x+y)))*((x+y)*cross((x-y))/cross((x-y)))}}} Multiply what's left:
{{{(x+y)(x+y)}}} is an acceptable answer
{{{(x+y)^2}}} is an acceptable answer 
{{{x^2+2xy+y^2}}} is also an acceptable answer.

When you get a little more practice, you will notice that the differecnce of two squares {{{x^2-y^2=(x+y)(x-y)}}} and cancel those two parts right away to get the same conclussion.  For now, factor, cancel, multiply.
