Question 57475
the sum of three consecutive odd integers is less than 100. What are the greatest possible values of these integers?
x= 1st odd integer
x+2= 2nd odd integer
x+4= 3rd odd integer

x+x+2+x+4<100
3x+6<100
  -6  -6
3x<94
dived by 3 both sides
equals
x<31 and one third
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You've done everything right so far.  You just need to finalize your thoughts and calculations.
Because you need them to be integers:
x<31  (without the one third)
The first odd integer: X=31
The second odd integer: x+2=33
The third odd integer: x+4=35
:
Check:
31+33+35=99
If you went with 33+35+37=105  So you're right:-)
Happy Calculating!!!
