Question 57470
when factoring you have to find terms that multiply out to get your last number and add to get the middle number, with some thought you can do this in your heard or find out on paper using the X rule or diamond property,

in the first equation -3 and 5 add to 2 and multiply to -15 so (x+5)(x-3) is your answer.

in the next one because there is no common middle term you are multiplying out squares,

so the square route of 9 is 3 so (x+3)(x-3) is your factored answer.

the third and fourth are simply with a term (x+1).

your answers are listed below.

(x+5)(x-3)
(x+3)(x-3)
(x+5)(x+1)
(x+3)(x+1)

these are already simple terms and can not be simplified further.
