Question 163685
The other answer to this is absolutely correct, it's just that I had to respond because the person who answered it somehow managed to not understand English sentence structure and assumed "his wife, Christine" implied 2 people, when it in fact gives his wife the name Christine. But I'll put the process of solving here anyway.

If Max's hours worked = n, then
Christine's hours worked = n+5 and Bill's hours worked = 3+2(n+5)
so
{{{(2(n+5)+3)+(n+5)+n=62}}}
{{{(2n+10+3)+2n+5=62}}}
{{{4n+18=62}}} so {{{4n=62-18}}}
{{{4n=44}}} so {{{n=44/4}}}
{{{n=11}}}
