Question 57262
Hi Lisa,
I saw your equation about trying to graph x<something on the computer. I didn't answer that one because I don't know how to do that on the computer. I hope someone else does. If you need to have it described, let me know and I can tell you what it looks like.
On to this question...
:
I have a graph where the x-axis meets the y-axis.

  I have a line like this < ________________> 3 bars up from the middle.
 What would the slope be?
If this is your graph:
{{{graph(300,200,-10,10,-10,10,3)}}}
The slope is 0 it isn't going up or down at any point.
The slope of all horizontal lines is 0.
If you think about the formula for slope: {{{highlight(m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1))}}}, if the y's are always the same, the numerator will always be 0, thus the slope will always be 0.
Happy Calculating, Lisa!!!
