Question 56992
"if you add 1/3 of the number of children riding ahead of me to 3/4 of those riding behind me you will know how many were on the merry go round.
:
Maybe I am missing something here, but it doesn't make sense:

Since they say children, I assume they do not count the teacher.
Let a = number ahead of her
Let b = number behind her
Total Children = a + b
:
But she says the total is: (1/3)a + (3/4)b
:
So you have: a + b = (1/3)a + (3/4)b; is that possible??
:
Maybe she means there's 0 children.
