Why do you find it necessary to yell?  All caps is shouting.  It is both rude and annoying.  Stop doing it.


Graph your relation.  Make sure you plot points that have both positive and negative values of *[tex \LARGE y].  If <i><b>any</b></i> vertical line exists that intersects the graph in more than one place, then the relation is <i><b>not</b></i> a function of *[tex \LARGE x].  Alternatively, if you would rather not graph this, if you can find <i><b>any</b></i> pair of *[tex \LARGE y] values that yield the same value of *[tex \LARGE x] then the relation is not a function of *[tex \LARGE x].
