Question 613723
Graph the two equations to get

{{{ drawing(500, 500, -10, 10, -10, 10,
 graph( 500, 500, -10, 10, -10, 10,0,(15-x),(3-x)/(-1))

)}}}

Note: the first equation x+y=15 is in green and the second equation x-y=3 is in blue

We see that the two lines intersect at the point (9,6). So the solutions are x = 9 and y = 6

So the system is consistent and independent.
