Question 56843
2x=4=3x

that means 2x=4, 2x=3x, .. wait..  2x=3x??  that's impossible unless x was 0, but then neither would equal 4.  ???
you must have meant either <font color=red><b>2x+4=3x</b></font> or <font color=blue><b>2x=4+3x</b></font>.

<br><br><font color=red><b>2x+4=3x</b></font>:<br>
2x+4=3x  minus 2x both sides
4=3x-2x  simplify
4=x  there ya go!
<br><br>
<font color=blue><b>2x=4+3x</b></font>:<br>
2x=4+3x  minus 3x both sides
2x-3x=4  simplify
-x=4 multiply both sides by -1
x=-4 there ya go.

Hope this helped.
