Question 607049
Use the rational zeros theorem to find all the zeros of the polynomial d(x)= 4X^3-4X^2-7X-2. Use the zeros to factor d over the real number.
**
...0...|....4......-4..... -7....-2
...1...|....4.......0......-7....-9
...2...|....4.......4...... 1......0 (2 is a zero)
d(x)=(x-2)(4x^2+4x+1)
d(x)=(x-2)(2x+1)^2
zeros are: 2 and -1/2 (multi 2)
..
note: I don't understand what "factor d over the real number" means.
