Question 606839
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

The probability of anything is the number of ways that you can have a successful outcome divided by the total number of outcomes. If your spinner has 40 slots each with a different number, then you have 40 total outcomes. The number being divisible by 6 is the criterion for a successful outcome. All you have to do is count how many of the numbers between 1 and 40 are divisible by 6.

Hint: Count by 6s and write down the number each count. Stop when you get to a number larger than 40. Cross out the last number. Count the remaining numbers.
