Question 606755
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x(x\ +\ 8)\ =\ 468]

Multiply it out, put the quadratic into standard form, and solve by ordinary means. Hint: It factors. Since the difference between the two factors (8) is small compared to the product (468) investigate integer factors near the square root of 468.

Remember, quadratics have two solutions and your problem statement DOES NOT exclude negative values for the solution.
