Whenever you are given a quadratic equation in which you cannot factor, we can solve it using the quadratic formula
(Note the quadratic formula states that if I have a quadratic in the form 
{{{ax^2+bx+c=0}}} 
then
{{{x=(-b +- sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a}}}




So in our case our a=8 our b=3 and our c=-4.  From here it is just substituting these three values into the equation above and using your calculator**make sure you put brackets in the correct positions when using the calculator or else it may calculate a different value**)
