Question 605419
"the square of a number is the same as twice the number" means that

x^2 = 2x

Now solve for x

x^2 = 2x

x^2 - 2x = 0

x(x-2) = 0

x = 0 or x-2 = 0

x = 0 or x = 2

So the solutions are x = 0 or x = 2

This means that the square of 0 (or 0^2 = 0) is the same as twice zero (2*0 = 0)

and that

the square of 2 (2^2 = 4) is the same as twice the number 2 (2*2 = 4)
