Question 601940
suppose that a ball is dropped from a height of 30 ft. And that each bounce reaches to 3/8 of the previous height. How high will the ball bounce on the second bounce?
I got 50.625 in as an answer but I don't think is right
-------------
That's more than the starting height, so it's not likely it's right.
-------
The 1st bounce is 30*(3/8) ft = 45/4 ft
The 2nd bounce is (45/4)*(3/8) = 135/32 ft =~ 4.22 ft
---------
Each bounce ht is 30*(3/8)^n, n = bounce #
