Question 55885
<pre><font size = 4 color = "darkgreen"><b>22 - 5(6v - 1) = 63

The most common error that would be likely to be made here
would be to violate "PEMDAS" and do 22 - 5 first and get 17.
That would be wrong. We must multiply first by distributing
the -5 into the parentheses:

22 - 30v + 5 = 63

Combine the 22 and the +5, getting 27

    27 - 30v = 63

Subtract 27 from both sides

        -30v = 36

Divide both sides by -30

           v = 36/(-30)

           v = -36/30

           v = -6/5
