Question 597479
Hi, there--
.
Simplify
{{{r^9(r^-5)/r^-2(r^-7)}}}
.
When you multiply exponential expressions, you add their exponents: (r^9)(r^-5)=r^4 because 9+(-5)=4. Likewise, (r^-2)(r^-7)=r^-9
.
{{{r^9(r^-5)/r^-2(r^-7)=r^4/r^-9}}}

When you divide exponential expressions you subtract there exponents: r^4/r^-9=r^13 because 4-(-9)=13.
{{{r^4/r^-9=r^13}}}
.
That's it!
.
