Question 597223
I wanted to find the area of a hexagon to determine the amount of glass I need. I measured diagonal and it was 40 inches.
-----------------
The diagonal, from vertex to vertex, not across the flats, is 2x the radius.
---------
{{{Area = (nR^2)/2*sin(360/n)}}}  R = 20, n = 6
--> {{{Area = 6*20^2*sin(60)/2 = 2400*sqrt(3)/2/2 = 600*sqrt(3)}}} sq inches
Area =~ 1039.32 sq inches
=~ 7.22 sq ft
