Question 55254
Hi Sher,
When x number of units are sold, the price of each unit (in dollars) is given by p = -x/2 + 75. I need to find the unit price when the following quantities are sold: 2, 7
Substitute 2 in for x and you get:
{{{p = -x/2 + 75}}}
{{{p=-(2)/2+75}}}
{{{p=-1+75}}}
p=$74.00
:
Substitute 7 in for x and you get:
{{{p = -x/2 + 75}}}
{{{p=-(7)/2+75}}} If you don't like adding fractions, obliterate them by multiplying everything by the LCD, 2.
{{{2*p=(2/2)*(-7)+2(75)}}}
{{{2p=-7+150}}}
{{{2p=143}}}
{{{2p/2=143/2}}}
{{{p=143/2}}}
p=$71.50
Happy Calculating, Sher!!!
