Question 55197
Can you please help me? This problem isn't in the book.
3(y-2)+y(1+2)=4
3y-6+1y+2y=4
then what?
6y-6=4-6???? what's after that???
ans:
   3(y-2)+y(1+2) = 4
or 3y-6+y(3)= 4
or 6y-6 = 4
or 6y = 4 + 6 = 10
or y = 10/6 = 5/3

note :
6y-6=4-6???? --- how u arrived at this because 4-6 is not valid .
you will move -6 from left to right side where it will have + sign
or you can understand like this
since both sides are equal you can add same number in both sides without affecting the values i.e.
            6y-6=4
          or 6y-6+6=4+6
          or 6y = 4+6
          or y = 10/6 = 5/3
