Divide the circumference by *[tex \Large 2\pi] to find the radius of the base.  Calculate the area of the base using *[tex \Large \pi{r^2}].  The volume is the height times the area of the base.


The Lateral Surface Area is the height times the circumference of the base.  The Total Surface Area is the Lateral Surface Area plus 2 times the Area of the Base.


Since all dimensions are in inches, the volume will be in cubic inches and the area in square inches.  Whether you leave your answer in terms of *[tex \Large \pi] or use some decimal approximation is up to you (or the directions your teacher/instructor/professor gave you).  If you do use a decimal approximation of *[tex \Large \pi] then the appropriate action is to round to the nearest whole number because your given measurements are to the nearest whole number and you should never report the results of a calculation involving measurements to a greater precision than your least precise given (or observed) measurment.
