Factor the trinomial

Reduce the fraction on the left
{{{ p + 1 = (3/2) + 3p - 3 }}}
Combine like terms on the right
{{{ p + 1 = (-1/2) + 3p }}}
subtract p from both sides
{{{ 1 = -1/2 + 2p }}}
add 1/2 to both sides
{{{ 3/2 = 2p }}}
Divide both sides by 2 ... or multiply by 1/2
{{{ 3/4 = p }}}

So it looks like March 4th (3/4) will be the day.
