Question 562135
9/6 = h/14

you are right that 9/6 reduces to 3/2

{{{3/2=h/14}}}

I can multiple 3/2 by 7/7 (which equals 1) which will give me 14 as my new denominator and 21 as my numerator

{{{(3/2)*(7/7)=h/14}}}

{{{21/14=h/14}}}

So h=21 which is correct

Two other ways of doing this are to use the cross multiplication method, or to do the opposite of dividing by 14 (and therefore multiplying both sides by 14)

Which gives {{{(14*9)/6=h}}} which again will get us that h=21
