Question 54082
First simplify both sides of the = sign.
{{{2(x-2)=x+3}}}
{{{2x-2*2=x+3}}}
{{{2x-4=x+3}}}
Now get all the x's on one side of the = sign. We can do this without breaking the rules of algebra by doing the opposite operation to whatever you are moving to both sides of the = sign.
{{{-x+2x-4=-x+x+3}}}
{{{x-4=3}}}
Now move the numbers to the other side of the = sign within the rules of algebra.
{{{x-4+4=3+4}}}
{{{highlight(x=7)}}}
To check yourself substitute the7 in for x in the original equation and simplify to see if both sides = when x=7.
{{{2(7-2)=7+3}}}
{{{2(5)=10}}}
{{{10=10}}}  We're right!!!!
