Question 553525
They gave you a perfect square trinomial since

4x^2 - 28x + 49 = (2x-7)^2

It's interesting that they didn't give you an example like this one!!

If you need help finishing this one, send me an Email!! Since you are doing an on-line class, you may need some additional explanations on a variety of topics. I hope my FREE website would be helpful to you.

The easiest way to find my explanation is to go to my website is to use the easy-to-remember and easy-to-spell link www.mathinlivingcolor.com. At the bottom of this page is a link that will take you to my Homepage. Look near the top of this page for the link "Basic, Intermediate, and College Algebra: One Step at a Time", click on the appropriate level of difficulty for your particular topic. You will especially like the "MATH IN LIVING COLOR" sections that go with the various topics. There are also FREE videos of me teaching certain topics in my younger years before I retired from teaching. The videos can be found from my Homepage by looking for the link "Rapalje Videos in Living Color". I think you will find that my explanations are a LOT easier to understand than the traditional textbooks you are probably using.

In particular, the topic Completing the Square is in Intermediate Algebra in Chapter 4. I hope you find it helpful.

Happy New Year!! My Email address is rapaljer@seminolestate.edu if you need to contact me!!
