Question 53622
Nadine has seven more nickels( N SAY ) than Delano has dimes ( D SAY ).
N=D+7

If Delano gives Nadine four of his dimes,
DELANO HAS = D-4 DIMES = 10(D-4)=10D-40 CENTS
NADINA WILL HAVE ...N NICKELS + 4 DIMES =5N+40 CENTS

 then Delano will have the same amount of money as Nadine.
10D-40 = 5N + 40 = 5(D+7)+40
10D-5D=35+40+40=115
5D=115
D=115/5=23.............
D=23
N=23+7=30
N=30
TOGETHER THEY HAVE 30*5+23*10=150+230=380 CENTS..=$3.80

 How much money do they have together? (Assume that Nadine has only nickels and Delano has only dimes.)
N=D
