Question 550432
The definition of a logarithm is {{{y=log(b,x)}}} if and only if {{{b^y=x}}}

A logarithm is basically the short form of this question: What power do raise my base to, to get X.

So for {{{4^2=16}}} what power do raise 4 to, to get 16? 2. In log form this question would be written {{{log(4,16)=2}}}

Now with y to the z power = 5 my question is what power do raise my base (y) to , to get 5 and the answer is z and it's written as {{{log(y,5)=z}}}
