yes a small mistake in that
we need to multiply with 3(x+2)= 3x+6 not with 6x+6....
lets see how :)

.
3x - (x+2) = -6
so, 
3x-2x -2 = -6
x-2= -6
x= -4
.
so, x= -4 is the answer of this.
