In graphing these points, notice that if you start with the first point (2,3), to get to the next point, you have to go over 1 to the right and up 1, which takes you to (3,4).  Then to get to the third point from the second point, you go over 1 more to the right and up 1 more, which takes you to (4,5).  To get another point on this line, just go over another unit to the right and up 1 more, and this will take you to the next point which would be (5,6).  Notice also, that for each point on this line, the y value is always 1 more than the x value.   


I don't have your book, so I don't quite follow what you mean by the rest of your description of this graph.
